Always be safe around the fire and take the opportunity to share fire safety lessons together.

Learning how to start and cook on fires is empowering.

Share the job.

Gathering together is natural around a fire.

  • Use a proper location-established pit, u-shaped fire bed, or circle free of litter and without wind risk

  • Clear above the fire- no trees or utilities

  • Prevent trip hazards around the fire, and cooking dishes.

  • Eliminate horseplay and stay safe.

  • Keep fire attended - don’t start it and leave

  • Extinguish completely.

Make Ahead-

Doing this saves on time and dishes.

Also, making ahead improves food safety.

Prepare kabobs and burgers at home.

Get these ingredients prepped, pattied, and packed to go right on the fire.

Good, wholesome, fresh meats and veggies from SVTFarm

Make-ahead foil packets set you up for future easy, tasty, and fun nights around the fire.

These are easy to make and can be nested right in the coals to cook.

Use any beef or lamb with veggies, citrus, or seasoning.

Here's aN easy Guide for your make-ahead blends:

  • Mix together a roasted sheet pan of veggies:

  • potatoes, carrots, onions, beets, broccoli,

  • And 1# of uncooked ground beef.

Season with salt, pepper, and ¼ cup of your favorite salad dressing.

Place a 12” piece of heavy-duty foil on the counter.

Top the foil with 1 cup of mixture.

Fold up and roll a seam in foil.

Freeze until you pack the cooler.

Spring Garden Gojuchang Packets with SVTFarm Ground Beef

  • Snap the flower end off your snap pea and peel the string off the pod. Cut in half and add to the pan.

  • Season with black pepper and salt.

  • Squeeze 1 Tbsp Gojuchang Korean Chili Paste over the top and stir to coat. I use my hands to get even coverage.

  • Divide into 1-2 cup portions onto foil squares and refrigerate until you take them to the fire.

  • Cook 10-15 minutes around hot coals

No Dishes-

Unless you use everything disposable,

remember the planet here-

I can’t promise no dishes.

You can definitely count on foil packets for moist, yummy, smooth dinners to sink your teeth into.

Without dishes to clean!

The packet serves as a dish with no clean-up.

Be careful not to get a steam burn.

Once they’re ready..20 minutes with cooked veggies, 45 minutes with raw potatoes…

Pull out of the fire and set aside to rest.

They’ll keep warm while you get everything else set to go;

…Like the people.

Clean As You Go-

Using a sanitizing bucket and cloth to wipe things down as soon as you use them prevents sticky utensils and surfaces.

Everyone can wipe down their own camp-issued plate, cup, and utensil before putting it back on the shelf for next time.

Keeping tidy means more time on the trails, in the water, and exploring.

Even if this is new for your family,

they’ll catch on quickly doing the chores means more time for fun.

Plus, doing the work together makes it quick and easy.

Learning how to camp is a lifetime skill.

No Fire Lunches-

Cooking more than you need on first-night dinners means you’ll have extra sausages, steak strips, and burgers for lunches to come.

Add hummus, veggie sticks, and fruit for satisfying mid-day breaks...

Getting you through the day without starting a fire.

A trifecta of Make-ahead, No dishes, and No fire lunches.

Pow!

Bringing cooked, sliced roast beef and lamb is the perfect way to serve two lunch options.

Cold plates are great, powerful, and gratifying.

Especially when it’s hot.

Using wraps or Romaine lettuce for roll-ups is a favorite.

I love both.

It’s effortless, straightforward, and mouthwatering.

Everyone can customize to their special tastes, too.
